Role

As the director and founder of the company, I ensure we deliver design projects to the highest standard, whilst maintaining an enjoyable working environment for the team. This primarily involves detailed team meetings, discussions and advice, combined with regular company social events. I also engage with existing and new clients, discussing current and potential new projects. I have gained extensive experience in a broad range of building sectors, specializing in the leisure and education buildings and the restoration of historic structures such as barn conversions and former mills which are popular around our local area.

Background

I have worked in the construction industry since leaving school in 1989, stating out as a joiner for a local firm in Hebden Bridge renovating old buildings, making handmade bespoke furniture and kitchens. I attended Leeds Metropolitan University where I studied Civil Engineering, graduating in 1997. I continued further education on a part-time basis, studying various Engineering Council topics in preparation to become a Chartered Engineer in 2009.

Life outside of Work

Since becoming a father of two between 2008 – 2010, I enjoy spending time with the family, becoming a dad has been the best thing to happen for me since getting married. My other hobbies include golf, fast cars, fine wine and socialising.
